This senior technician specialising in the use, maintenance and after-sales service of agricultural equipment is capable of identifying the equipment needs of farmers in order to improve yields and the quality of production. They are responsible for managing equipment, making it available and adapting it to technological and regulatory innovations. They also provide service and advice to customers with specific needs. They can analyse problems of storage, processing or transport of products and provide appropriate solutions. Their activities also include working with agricultural equipment manufacturers. This advanced technician works in construction companies and in maintenance and after-sales companies for agricultural machinery and equipment. They work as workshop managers or foremen, team leaders, after-sales technicians, technical advisers for manufacturers, advisers or experts for independent bodies (emerging professions).
The training enables students to acquire:
- technical skills in the various aspects of maintenance and the environment in which agricultural equipment is used
- skills in after-sales management and organisation
- communication skills, particularly to meet customer expectations
- the ability to work as part of a team and interact with the company's internal departments and external partners.
It is divided into two types of vocational and general teaching.
Professional courses: modelling of equipment behaviour, agronomy and knowledge of the agricultural equipment environment, organisation of maintenance and after-sales, technology and intervention on equipment
General courses: general culture and expression, mathematics, physics - chemistry, English, economics - management applied to agricultural equipment
A period of immersion in a professional environment lasting 6 to 8 weeks must be completed.

This BTS is aimed primarily at holders of a Bac Pro in equipment maintenance and operation, a Bac technologique STI2D or a Bac S. However, contact the GRETA-CFA to find out about the possibilities of integration according to your profile.

The BTS is a diploma designed for professional integration. It is possible to continue on to an agricultural specialisation certificate (CS), a professional degree, or an ATS preparatory class to enter an engineering school.
